Play The Drums

Freelance Project

Play The Drums was a business I started after I had been teaching drums for a while. I was teaching drums in multiple schools and needed a streamlined way of managing pupils, so I built a website. This was one of the first websites I built and is no longer active, but I'm extremely proud of it so I thought it was still worth a mention! The website worked really well, pupils could sign up easily and their parents could submit all of the forms that used to be done on paper.
I quickly realised the power of what I had created and decided to integrate a payment system so that I no longer had to take cash directly from pupils. Stripe was the platform I chose to integrate with and this was another great success. I found the integration really straightforward and this allowed me to offer extra resources to pupils outside of their lessons to enhance their learning.
When Covid-19 hit and schools were closed due to lockdown in the UK, I found myself in a fortunate position as I already had an online connection with my pupils and their parents. I was able to create video lessons and upload them to student's accounts on my website in order for them to continue their drum lessons.
The video lessons were a great success and when the schools re-opened I was able to diversify my income stream and launch a subscription service that offered video lessons for students that couldn't get enough of their regular lessons!
Here's one of the video lessons I created for my students:
